Listening to the hurtful comments people make everyday never seems to stop. I don't think you realize how much your words mean. Recently in my hometown there was yet again another suicide, in fact our second one in the last four years and just one of 129 that happen on average in a day.
1. That person does have feelings
You can't just talk to someone as if they don't have feelings, because believe it or not they do.
2. I don't care who you are or what you have done
No one, and I mean NO ONE, deserves to be torn apart by those around them. We all have something that we are not that proud of, some more than others, but there's always time to fix it. Sometimes people's actions are because they are suffering from something else, so maybe try to help them instead of hurt them even more.
3. Your actions say a lot about you
There are some people I use to think so highly of, that now I couldn't imagine talking to. I always try so hard to see the best in people until they give me a reason not to, running someone down will easily push me away because like I mentioned before, no one deserves that. You might not be aware, but there are people who look up to you, so it is important to watch what you say.
4. Some days are hard
We all are going to have days that we feel on top of the world whether it's because you passed that test, graduated, got promoted, or finally asked that boy/girl out and they said yes, but you are also going to face some really tough days. We all have low times and bad days, and it might not seem like it, but you will get through it. There are things to look forward to.
5. Stand your ground
I know it can be hard to stand up for what you feel is right, especially when you know you will have so many against you. It might be one of the hardest things you do, but I promise it will be so worth it in the end. It might take removing yourself from a specific group of friends to what is right, and that is perfectly okay.
6. Be there for someone who needs it
Be that friend. They most likely won't want to admit they need someone, try to watch for a sign and reach out to them. Be the person that will make sure they are okay. As much as we don't like to admit it, suicide is real, and self harm is real.
If you ever see someone else getting torn apart by someone's words, please help them whether that be talking to them or helping them stand up for who they are. You should not have to change who you are to fit in with others, stand out, be who you were meant to be, love who you are. Do not fall to the feet of other people's terrible words. The bullies will not win, not this fight.
