Oh, how I miss those summer days when we were young -- when working and responsibilities were out of the question. Now that we're reaching adulthood (something we desperately wanted), our summer is now filled with waking up early, making our own lunches for the long workweek and trying to save money for the few days we are off.
But, hey, at least the greatest show ever made -- "The Office" -- is here for us on Netflix to enjoy whenever or wherever, and relates to all the struggles there are in being a college student trying to enjoy their summer after a long school year.
1. Getting freshly home-cooked meals made best by Mom:
So long crappy dining hall food! (For now.)
2. When you come home and attend family parties, and everyone immediately starts asking how finals went/what you're doing with your life:
I just got out of finals last week, just let me breathe!
3. You start to realize after being home for a while that your only friend from home is just your pet:
4. Running into people from your hometown who you no longer hang out with or talk to:
When you come from a small town like I do, it's almost impossible not to run into someone at least once a day.5. Looking at your calendar that is filled with graduation parties and summer weddings:
6. Coming to the realization that your body is not swimsuit season ready:
More like the body type filled with Dunkin' iced coffees and Chipotle.
7. The positive attitude you have when starting your summer job/internship...
8. ... Versus about a week in:
9. Stuck between wanting to stay out late with friends or getting in bed at a reasonable time for work the next morning:
10. Then it occurs to you that when your friends are at the beach, you'll be stuck at work:
11. Which means, no tan--just pale skin 365 days a year!
12. So, you'll just stick to dreaming about a summer vacation and not having to be an adult living in reality.
13. But, pay day! And you can now afford to do something fun on your days off.
The urge to have fun is there when the weather is always nice!
14. Then checking your bank account a day later...
*help*
15. Which will most likely lead you to getting back into some of your old lazy habits...
16. Such as dedicating all of your days in your bed, watching Netflix.
17. Don't forget to add food to that -- you can't spend your days Netflix and chilling without food.
18. Your hate for people increases and effort in making plans decreases.
19. After long summer days filled with all work and no fun, having a few extra glasses of wine at the end of the day can come in handy.
Especially on Fridays...
20. But, in a blink of an eye, Monday is here yet again.
21. You really start to miss all your friends from college and your college freedom.
22. And reuniting with your friends is probably the best part of your summer.
23. Because you might become a little crazy from doing almost everything on a schedule and by yourself.
Eat. Sleep. Work. Netflix. And Repeat.
