Every day is a new day. This day may be harder than the last, or in comparison to yesterday, it may seem like the greatest day of your life. Life is hard, but even if every single day you feel like you're just barely making it, forward is forward, and you will get through this at your own pace. Whether it be that you're struggling in school, aching over the loss of a loved one, or trying to get over your last relationship, you're DOING it every single day, including right this very minute.
It may be hard--life is always going to be hard. But, your ability to push through determines your ability to survive and be successful, and the very fact that you're sitting here, reading this right now, is perfect demonstration of that. You have to move on, this can not last forever. The grief and pain that you're feeling may seem like it's going to kill you, but you can do it.
The thing about pushing through this and moving forward is that not only does your situation change, you change. Your priorities and motives change, your goals for your future change, your lifestyle and the things that you want most change.
This is all a part of growing up, and yes, you can still consider yourself to be "growing up" even if you're 50. The world changes around you every single day, and you can choose to embrace it and change with it, or always remain the same and never grow into the best version of yourself.
The decisions and choices you will make in your life are going to be what make you who you really are. There will be times when you let yourself and those around you down, but forward is forward, and allowing yourself to move on is the only way to better yourself.
Just like everyone else, I've made a lot of mistakes and had to learn from every single one of them. But the older I get, the more I realize that that's what life is: a cluster of mistakes that you learn from and grow from so you don't make the same mistake more than once. In reality, making mistakes is the only way to find out who you really are and what you really want to be.
It's vital to remember that the past is the past and there is nothing you can do to change it, but rather you can learn from it and grow from it. Letting go of who you were yesterday is the only way you can better yourself for tomorrow.
This allows you to become the truest version of yourself, and through that you will find confidence, joy, love, success, etc. Steve Maraboli said, "Live authentically. Why would you continue to compromise something that's beautiful to create something that's fake? When you are living the best version of yourself, you inspire others to live the best versions of themselves."
To truly live authentically, you must be proud of who you are and who you are becoming, allow who others see you as to be defined by who you see yourself as, and be entirely present in each moment.
