9 Signs Your Mom Went to Villanova

In This Article:

I am sitting on the couch with my mom. It's 6:59PM and the Villanova vs St. John's game will be on in a minute. She runs straight to her room yelling "PAUSE IT! PLEASE!" and I know that she has forgotten to wear an article of Villanova clothing. It's a habit from her time in college that she just can't seem to shake away. If your parent went to Villanova, I can guarantee you can relate to some of the following.

1. She "tried not to pressure you" when you applied for college.

But it was clear there was only one place she'd feel completely good about sending you off to.

2. At least a section of her closet resembles the Bookstore.

Villanova hat, sweatshirt, T-shirts, gloves, leggings. Got em!

3. She calls out "Boooooooth" whenever Phil Booth gets points.

Or pretty much whenever he's on the screen. It's just a fun sound to make at this point.

4. She says "I wonder what *inset basketball player's name* is like in person.

And expects me to have a story about each and every one of them.

5. She looks for any excuse to come to campus.

Truthfully, I could easily drive myself the 2 hours to school. But Mom wants to see the "newest renovations" and of course it's nice to have some company.

6. She gets you Villanova swag for all holidays.

"I just picked up these cute V stickers I found at the store!"

7. She always uses the phrase "well back in my time..."

And you have to listen to her compare your time to hers.

8. Your whole family rolls their eyes at all the Nova talk.

You wouldn't get it, okay?

9. She shares a special bond with you no one else can fully understand.

Sorry, siblings!!
