Necessities for survival are as follows: Food, water, shelter and some really great girl friends. They love you more than any boy ever could. "Sex and the City" had a quote that said, "Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with," and I couldn't agree more. Here's why.
1. You'll never have to nag them about taking cute photos with you.
Wait... I wasn't on my "good" side, can we take it again? How's the lighting? Is it a good angle? These are all pivotal factors to consider while trying to take the perfect Instagram photo. Girls understand that. They accommodate that. They are ready to take as many photos as need be... and they'll even do it without complaining!
2. They'll understand your coded text messages.
Girl's know that when you say, "I'm fine" you're not. Girls also know that a text message saying "K" is basically the kiss of death. To put it simply, girls have a shared language guys aren't always privy to. That's why your girl friends can always tell how you're feeling and what you need. Thanks, ladies!
3. They won't think you're crazy during "that time of the month."
Your girl friends don't shy away at the sight of a *gasp* tampon or at the mention of cramps. Instead, they ask you if you need Advil and offer you copious amounts of chocolate. They'll even eat it with you. What are boys?
4. Cuddling just got that much better!
At the movie theater and need a shoulder to rest your head on? You got it. In desperate need of a hug? Don't have to ask them twice. Do you feel like cuddling while watching "Lip Sync Battle" on YouTube? Big spoon at your service! The real bonus though? Your girl friends don't take up half the bed!
5. You can cry in front of them and they won't freak out
Your girl friends will let you cry and cry... and cry some more. They will wipe away your tears, let you blow your nose on their clothes, and will even try to make sense of what you're saying. (You're crying pretty heavily so it can be hard to follow. It's a good thing females are fluent in "hot mess").
6. They keep you around for all the right reasons.
Your girl friends have no ulterior motives. Things between you and them are simply platonic, making every heart-to-heart and compliment that much better. Their love for you is genuine. They see you at your worst and stay by you. Not because they want anything more from you than your company. You're not perfect but your girl friends certainly seem to think so! (And that's why we love them.)
