Having siblings, either older or younger, means that there is a likelihood of them having kids and you becoming their aunt or uncle. In my case, that's exactly what happened, eight times over to be exact (well for now at least). Each time was a little different because I was still a kid when my first niece was born. I think I was about 10 when she was born so I had no clue what it meant to be an aunt. All I knew was that there happened to be a new baby in the family. At first, I was scared since babies are so small and fragile but as I grew up it got less scary. After 11 years, I have six nieces and nephews with two more nephews on the way. There are a few promises I want to make to all of them.

I promise to stick up for you no matter what.

I will always have your back no matter what. Whether it's to your parents or not, I'll always be right there by your side.

I promise to always try and make you smile.

When you're sad, upset, or mad I'll always try to make you laugh. From stupid dad jokes and puns to me just being clumsy and you laughing at me falling, either way, I'll try to make you laugh because I hate seeing the people I care about sad.

I promise to always be there for you.

I'll always be just a phone call away. It could be the middle of the day or 2 am and I'll answer and be there to talk you through what ever.

I promise to be the "cool aunt."

I've always wanted to be the cool aunt and you gave me the chance to be it so this is more of a thank you lol.

I promise to always be your cuddle buddy.

I'll always be done for a cuddle sesh with one of you guys. Because honestly nap time is better when you have your aunt to cuddle with.

I promise to take plenty of pictures.

When I say plenty I meant it. From selfies with you all to just random pictures I took, my phone is already full of pictures of me with you all but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I promise to spoil you as much as I can.

Even being a poor college student sometimes I will spoil you. Whether it's a birthday or just because I can, I'm allowed to spoil my nieces and nephews.

And finally, I promise to love you unconditionally.

I loved you from the first moment I held and looked down at those little fingers and toes. I can't forget that little smile too. It was hard not to and to this day I still love you as much as I did the first time I saw you

In case ya'll wanted to see how cute my nieces and nephews are here's a couple of pictures because I couldn't resist to show off how absolutely adorable they are!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
