5 Reasons Why I Love Having a Little Brother

In This Article:

Dear friends,

When I was younger, I always fought with my little brother. We would argue over the dumbest shit in the world. Now that I go to college, we got closer and it's awesome. We play 2k together and watch sports and all that brother stuff. Today I want to give 5 reasons as to why it is awesome to have a younger brother and be the oldest. Enjoy.

1. You Have More Authority.

As the older one you usually take charge. You choose what game you want to play or you can do something that he can't because he is the younger one. This is kind of a positive and a negative because you tend to have more responsibilities as the older one. Regardless, it is a great feeling to be in charge of a little brother. Don't worry Aaron, I still love ya bro.

2. You Learn To Be A Leader.

Being the older one teaches you leadership qualities. You have to lead by example and teach your younger brother what's good and wrong. Sometimes a little brother may look up to you and sometimes he won't. Either way, it's important to set a good example for your younger sibling. Despite all the arguing and the fighting you may go through, you should care enough to help him go down the right path. I care about my brother a lot, and I just want to make sure I help him do what's good for him. Yeah sure, that should be a parent's job, but I feel like it is easier to relate to a sibling than it is a parent since we are growing up in the same generation.

3. You Can Play "The Older" Card.

Ah, I love this. If he wanted to do something on the playstation, I would say "I'm older" and take it from him. This is one of the crueler aspects of having a younger brother, but when you're living together it is so great. Anything that he wants to do that might get in the way of your plans, just use "The Older" card and 9/10 times it should work. There's always that one time where being the oldest doesn't give you crap.

4. You Live With One Of Your Best Friends.

Living with my younger brother as a kid sucked a little because like I said, we would argue a lot of the time. Now I realized how great it was living with a younger brother. I didn't need to invite a friend over because I could just do something with my brother. Whether it was making a fort, playing madden, or going outside in the snow. It was the best thing in the world doing stuff together. It was the little things that made it fun hanging out together. Now that I'm at college, whenever I come home to visit we always hang out and play video games til we go to bed. We catch up about stuff we missed while we were a part, and it really makes me grateful to have a younger brother.

5. You Always Have Someone There For You.

Bros will be bros through thick and thin. There are times where my brother annoys me and vise versa, but I know that I can count on him in the end to be there for me. Even if he is three years younger than me, we still have each other's backs. I want him to know he can trust me and always ask me for help if he needs it. It's nice knowing I'll always have my bro to look out for me and the other way around.

Having a younger sibling isn't all that bad. Yes, you'll argue for sure, but it's one of the greatest things in the world. You learn that you need to stick together as you grow older because time is short nowadays. Who knows when one of you will move away or something that causes you to grow apart. It's important to enjoy your time with your younger sibling.

I hope you all enjoyed this article, and I will see you guys next week with a new topic.

Your Friend,

Al

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
