We've all seen the videos trending on every social media site, from the "Bern baby Bern" signs to music remixes of Senator Sanders.

But, people respond by assuming we are all just getting caught up in the hype. After all, what do a bunch of 20-year-old's know about politics? They're just following the trend. Well, take a look at this.

Bernie comes across as a people person. When he speaks, he gives off a genuine vibe, and his past actions certainly support that. So here are a handful of reasons why Senator Sanders is attracting so much buzz.

1. He is the proud son of immigrants.

Millions of Americans can relate to the fact that he is the son of Polish immigrants. This country was built on the backs of "outsiders" and all those seen as secondary citizens.

He knows the importance of immigration, as many young people today are second generation Americans. Senator Sanders understands the struggle that many immigrants face on a daily basis to make it in this country.

2. As a college student, he took part in the fight against segregation.

This man leads sit-ins for weeks at a time and even took part in the March on Washington as he was a leader in the Congress for Racial Equality at the University of Chicago, and was even arrested for his efforts to make social change.

3. He has stuck to the same values from his time as Senator to his current campaign.

Bernie, since being the Senator of Vermont has always been concerned with income inequality, the need for better healthcare and the rights of people of color and various sexual orientations.

4. Bernie has big dreams.

It has been said that he is too much of a dreamer; that his ideas are simply unrealistic. But Senator Sanders has always fought for what he believes in. The saying goes "shoot for the moon and you will land amongst the stars."

5. He is a strong motivational speaker.

When Bernie speaks his voice is always heard. He speaks for the people and not at the people. Senator Sanders appreciates young voters and appreciates us as part of the American demographic.

For this reason, he holds our best interests at heart, especially concerning the issue of college debt. Overall, his voice is one of drastic change that little by little may change the face of the United States.
