You Would Be Missed

It's just a bad day, week, month, or year - not a bad life.

There are those times in your life where we all feel down or sad or even mad that we are feeling that way. A day, a week, a month, even a year, where it feels like the world is crashing down on you.

You feel like nothing good is going on and even if there is, you are expecting the bad to hit. There are times in your life where it feels like happiness is so far out of reach that you'll never get there. When all you can feel is empty, emotionless. Where your emotional capability is at a zero and you feel as if your mind is filled with static.

When you feel like this, sometimes it's hard to go on. You don't have the energy to spend another day waiting for this time to end. When the darkest thoughts come creeping and you don't want to listen to them anymore. But you would be missed.

By your best friend, your roommate, your classmates, your family. You would be missed.

At the moment you don't think of the impact you would have if you were gone. You think maybe it's better off if the unhappy you are gone because you don't know if the happy you are ever coming back.

But the sun will come, you will feel the weight being lifted, you will be happy. There is always sunshine after the storm.

Your parents would be lost without the person they created, the human they shaped, the one person in the world they would do anything for. They would hold onto the Sunday night dinners, the sports games, the choir concerts. But don't make them hold onto the past, let them have a beautiful future with you.

What would your best friend do the next time they need you to go to Target in the middle of the night because their sweet tooth is just to much to handle and they need ice cream now, or the next time they need someone to call because their day was awful and they just need someone to vent to.

What will your roommate do when they hear a weird noise in the middle of the night or they drunkenly forgot their key and are locked out. Or what will your classmate do when they just can't get out of bed that day and need you to sign them in for class, or for that big test when they don't have anyone to study with.

Maybe even the random person you walk past every day to class or work and you always say hi to, your "hi" would be missed. Your presence would be missed.

So when your heart feels heavy, and you don't think the sadness will pass, remember your mom, your dad, your sister, your lab partner, your roommate, any person you've come in contact with. Remember you would be missed.

If you feel you need it, find help, tell your best friend, your family, because you have people who love you, who would do anything to help you reach the happiness that feels so far away. The people who would miss you.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
