Maybe you just had your heart broken for the first time. Maybe it was the fifth time, or the tenth time. Regardless, it hurts. It is devastating and soul-crushing to put your time, effort and heart into someone else’s hands only to watch them drop it as if it means nothing. It is difficult to bounce back.
Maybe that person, the one who broke you, made you feel as if you weren’t worth it. They were so caught up in themselves that they made your dreams and values feel insignificant in comparison. Or the media that our society exposes us to every single day has told you that you are not attractive enough, and boys/girls won’t like you if you do this or that. It is possible that someone has actually told you that it will be hard for you to find someone who will love you for who you are.
Stop right there. Remember who you are. Recall the fact that you know yourself better than all the jerks who treated your heart like a toy for weeks, months, or years. You know your strengths, weaknesses, quirks and everything in between. You will find someone who loves every single thing about you.
You will find someone who is patient with you, and listens intently to your dreams and favorite songs. You will find someone who loves you in spite of your flaws, and even embraces them as they would your best characteristics. They will support you in everything you do, and never put you down. They will be honest and loyal, caring and undeniably loving.
It is okay if you don’t find your person today or tomorrow. It could take some time. But it will not be “difficult” to find someone. When it happens it will happen, whether you expect it or not.
Be patient, and don’t force it. If something is meant to be, fate will find a way. Love is not something you want to rush. Let things fall into place naturally, and on your own terms. I’m not saying it will be easy, nor am I saying you won’t make mistakes or get hurt along the way. All I am saying is be yourself, and don’t be afraid to love yourself first. Be the best version of you that you can be, and you will find someone who loves you for being that person.
