There is voting, and then, there's VOTING. The difference between the two is pretty simple. Either you know how to vote, or you don't. People love to throw excuses out there, like they are not registered or they don't care about politics. Well, let me sum that up right here for you. If you ever even let the words come out of your mouth that you are not registered and it's too much work for you to sign a few lines, then you must just be purely lazy. Second, one of my professors recently said that anyone who who does not care about politics or thinks they don't apply to them are ignorant bigots. This is very true for many reasons. No matter who you are, what you do, or where you go, politics are all over your body. When you go to sleep, you are sleeping with a bed spread or blankets, which are more than likely made in China or another country that we have a trade agreement with. The reason we have that trade agreement is because of the government. The government is politics. When you wake up and take a shower, that water you are using is regulated through government companies and government pipes. The clothes you decide to wear for the day are probably more than likely made out of the country as well, which comes right back to the government. So, everything is the government, which means everything is politics.
So, I advise you to think about this election. Think about this country. Think about what you want for this country. After this election, the country is going to change. We the people are that change. It is time for that change. I encourage you to think and think hard because that's what going to make a difference. Stop telling yourself that your vote doesn't matter because your vote does matter. Your voice does matter. It is time to realize that these policies matter. You might complain all you want, but the only way you are going to fix it is by using your right to vote. The privilege of voting is so important to America. It is bound by our country to vote.
We are the generation that is going to make or break America. Our great, great grandparents, great grandparents, grandparents and parents did not raise us to let them down. They raised us to make them proud. As a citizen of the United States of America, do not disgrace this country with your sorry excuses and petty complaints. Do something about it. I am tired of seeing this generation's laziness. I do not want to one day have to tell my children that it was my generation's fault that this country is a failure. I want to be able to say my generation is the reason this country is amazing. We once were the greatest country, and we can be.
So get out and VOTE!
