Dear Donald Trump,
As President-Elect of this great nation, you now hold the responsibility to serve ALL.
In this country there is an estimated: 125 million adult women, 56 million disabled Americans, 55 million Hispanics, 5 million Native Americans, three million Muslims, and one million Americans who identify as LGBTQA+
With that stated, I do not believe I need to reiterate the hateful rhetoric you have propagated throughout your campaign and how it affects all of the aforementioned communities.
I do not wish for your failure, in fact, I pray with whatever hope I have left, that you will dismantle the fears of those you have intimidated. As the new leader of the United States of America, you can not disregard 120 million Americans. In fact, you now have an obligation to acknowledge and protect them.
You must address those supporters who now feel entitled to carry out acts of violence in your name.
The optimist within me, wants you to ensure the women of this country, that they will have the right to make decisions regarding their own bodies and that those with disabilities will not have to suffer through lack of medication or vital resources, that millions of children will not have to say good-bye to their loved ones or have to carry the label of "rapists and drug dealers", that those who are distressed that you will not protect their environmental resources will be proved wrong, that people will hold their constitutional right to freedom of religion without the fear of being targets of hate crimes and likewise that those of who identify as LGBTQA+ will not have to fear for their lives.
Donald, you claim you will "Make America Great Again" but the sad truth is, it will never be made "great again" if you sacrifice the basic human rights of those who are not like you to reach "greatness."
I for one, contain a cavernous desire to be wrong. I wish to be wrong in my initial impressions of you and the place you will take this country. I beg you Donald Trump, please prove those of us, who are reasonably distraught with your pending Presidency, wrong.
Sincerely,
An American whose last resort is you.
