You Need To Know You Are Beautiful

No words will break your bones.

You Need To Know You Are Beautiful

Hey, stop crying because that one boy said no. He is an idiot. This does not mean you are not good enough for him, it just means that you deserve better. Don't dwell on breakups or crushes. Your time will come, I promise.

Hey, stop looking at other girls' Instagram posts and comparing yourself to them. You are beautiful just the way you are. Stop wishing you had someone else's life, because you are you and you have your own social story to tell. Stop judging that other girl just because she does not "look good," or because you are jealous. I think you are too good enough to be judging others.

Hey, stop squeezing your stomach and looking at all of your "stretch marks." Stop looking at your thighs, you don't need a thigh gap either. Don't look in the mirror because you think you are not beautiful enough, no need to check for that constantly.

Hey, stop trying to cover your face with excessive makeup, you are so pretty without it. I am so sure that you do not look like a zombie. Rock the pimples, blemishes, whatever you got!

Hey, stop exercising too much. Stop looking at how many calories something has. Stop putting yourself on the scale. Stop asking your friends if you look too "fat" or too "skinny." Does it matter nowadays? I get it, being healthy means a lot, but do not overdue it!

Hey, stop calling yourself four-eyes, those glasses look so good on you. You can pull them off and that's why you're wearing them. You don't need contacts to look beautiful. We can all see your eyes shining through your glasses.

Hey, stop dying your hair constantly. Your natural hair is the best! You don't need to damage your hair constantly. Once in a while, we all need a little boost, but not every month.

Hey, stop trying to get your skin tone to a specific color. If your tan, then you are tan. If you are pale, then so what? It still looks good on you.

I am not saying that exercising, wearing makeup, eating healthy or unhealthy, being fit or not fit, having glasses or not, changing skin or hair colors is bad, I just want you to first accept yourself for who you are and cherish it. Sure, we all may need a boost and we all want to feel good, but do not beat yourself up if you look like this or not. We are all unique and beautiful in our own way. Do not let the media or anyone else change that point of view. I think it is time for you to change just for yourself, not for anyone else. But first, ask yourself, "Am I doing this because I think I am ugly, or because I want to enhance my beautiful self?"

I still cannot accept myself but I am working towards it. You should too. Once you get there you will be so damn confident, girl.

Please, just be you. You probably hear this all the time, but I mean this with all my heart: I think you have the potential to become someone great if you stop judging yourself or others. No one is too thick or thin, light or dark. Love yourself, because everyone else and I think you are beautiful enough.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
