Fruitport, Michigan is home of the Trojans, friendly people, and lots of love. Here are seven things you notice when you are in the small town of Fruitport...
1. You know that our water tower is a giant smiley face for some reason.2. You go to Orchard Markets on an almost daily basis.
It's not the place to go when you don’t want to run into anyone you know because everybody knows everybody in our little town.
3. You hate the sight of this logo.
The Fruitport – Spring Lake rivalry has been strong for many years. The two schools compete against one another in sports and academic events, hoping to be the winning side of the bayou. Go Blue!
4. You've been to Peppie's Pizza and Sub Shop, and Burger Crest.

The high school is located just blocks from both of these fast food joints. Many students flock to either of these places at least once during the week on their lunch breaks to enjoy an Italiano sub or a double cheeseburger.
5. You've been to Fruitport Old Fashioned Days.
The weeklong festival before Memorial Day is a favorite time for the community of Fruitport. The carnival, parade, fireworks, and other events take place (thanks to The Lions Club) to celebrate the holiday, and for children, it let’s them know that the end of the school year is right around the corner.
6. You're always surrounded by your best friends.

Since graduating in 2014 I have realized who my true friends are. Being away at school and not with my home-town friends everyday makes me so grateful for all of the days we did get to spend together growing up. Things are different and we don't talk all of the time now that we are following our individual dreams but I am lucky enough to say that I still have my two best friends around whenever I need them. Thank you, Jade and Jillian, for all of the laughs, the endless love, and the tremendous amount of support you have blessed me with. Our memories are what get me through every tough day and every difficult exam.
7. You put aside whatever differences you have and act like a family.
Together we comfort each other, encourage each other to follow our dreams, and together, we beat cancer! Through every diagnosis, every session of chemotherapy, every round of radiation, and all of the tears, we are one.
