While going to Blue Ridge High School there are so many significant things that come to mind. Some good and some bad, and well some have been the worst, but there a few things about Blue Ridge that most people if not everyone knows.

1. Blue Ridge vs. Greer Football game

This game is like no other, it is the most exciting and most gut wrenching. Greer and Blue Ridge have been rivals since who knows when and when it comes to this game you have to be there. There is huge amount of smack talk between the people who are not even on the teams. But for this game, you have to get there early to get a good seat because you do not want to miss any of it.

2. Blue Ridge vs. Greer ANYTHING

Whether it be football, tennis, golf, basketball, baseball, or fundraisers, Blue Ridge and Greer are always trying to out-do each other. The goal is to beat GREER. We love our Greer friends but during sport seasons or other events we gotta beat them.

3. You know or are a part of the "rednecks."

They are everywhere. Whether you believe it or not they are everywhere. Not that there is anything wrong with them, but you can always count on at least a third of the school wearing camo, or having a dip can in their pocket.

4. Two word. MS. HENDLEY.

Ms. Hendley is honestly one of the best teachers I have met, she is also one of the greatest people I have met. Most people if not everyone knows her. Her sweet, funny, and sarcastic personality does not compare. She is there for educational purposes but if you are having a rough day just go to her frog themed class room.

5. Hearing the latest trap music from the jacked up truck flying a rebel flag.

You can always count on hearing any new "trap" music from the biggest, loudest, most country truck in the parking lot. Along with the rebel flag they try to fly from their truck. Never fails.

6. You know what half the school will be wearing on Fridays.

JROTC uniforms. Not that there is anything wrong with them, but there are a lot of people in the JROTC. More than you would expect, even though I think some people use it to get out of Gym.

7. You have been through so many threats.

Whether it has been bomb, fight, or fire you have been through all of these threats. Being evacuated to the football stadium and having to sign out and in to use the bathroom. Even having teachers "monitor" the bathrooms.

8. It is basically a crime to show your shoulders or wear leggings.

"You can't show your shoulders, a boy/girl might get distracted." "A shirt must come to your knee when wearing leggings." "Go home, change, or ISS?" OH.

9. You hate it, but you gotta love it.

You get away with a lot (or at least I did), you enjoy most of the teachers, the food may suck but there is always papa johns or hot pockets. You wanna graduate but you miss it when you are gone for the littlest reasons. Once a tiger, always a tiger.
