It's a Pirate's life for me.

Seton Hall is the university that Pirates hold near and dear to their hearts. Here are some ways to know that you're definitely one of South Orange's finest.

1. People walk out of their way to avoid stepping on the seal

2. And then you see those who accidentally do step on the seal sprinting and throwing elbows to make it to the pirate's boot in time to erase the bad luck

3. You feel like the squirrels hide out in the trees and throw acorns at your head while walking to class in the fall

4. It's not even Halloween and yet the star is on top of the Christmas tree in the green

5. You don't gain the Freshman 15 because the stairs in every -- single -- building are steeper than mountain climbing

6. You live in Boland and have the dreaded daily fire drill for a week straight

7. You try to find anything edible in the caf

8. Except on those select days the caf decides to grace us with chicken tenders and mac and cheese

9. When you make your own food in the caf and you're nervous to burn your food in fear of ruining the one and only dining hall on campus

10. You wait what feels like three years for the SafeRide to show up at 2 a.m.

11. Everyone's first college party experience was at 55...and then you never wanted to go back

12. You have to choose between getting Dunkin' before class...or waiting in a 30-minute long line

13. You call either Cluck U or Domino's once you return to campus after a night out

14. You make jokes about "booty" because you can... Go Pirates!

15. You're caught off guard by the bells outside Jubilee every -- damn -- time

16. You've personally requested one of Miss Virginia's breakfast sandwiches or grilled cheeses

17. The basketball team roams around campus on hover-boards...even in the caf

18. The majority of students desert campus as soon as their last class ends...leaving SHU a ghost town on the weekends

19. You always hear someone playing the piano in front of the U Center

20. You're always bitter about not being allowed to have string lights in your dorm

21. You try to get tickets to any SAB event but they sell out in under a minute on Eventbrite

22. You complain about Seton Hall, but know you'll always love being a Pirate

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
