You Have Talent. Everyone Does.

Even if you don't think so, you are wrong.

You Have Talent. Everyone Does.
Phoenix Talent Schools

We live in a world where we are surrounded by some of the most talented people. My favorite actor is one of the best comedians of all time, my favorite singer has won multiple Grammys and an amazing musical was written by someone who changed Broadway forever. These people have talent but not everyone is blessed with the talent of music, acting, dance or sport.

You might be thinking to yourself this is a strange article idea especially from someone who is known for writing sports articles, articles about his favorite tv character and articles about his best friends. You are correct this is an interesting article topic, but I feel it is something that not only I need to hear but other people need to hear.

You might think you are not talented but you are wrong. Webster’s dictionary defines the word talent as the natural endowments of a person while we as a society define as something we are good. You are talented and you’re hearing it from me the guy who writes articles about Gronk and Schmidt. You might not be the best singer or dancer but that shouldn’t stop you from doing what you love. Not everyone is blessed with talent but you can still make a difference. I didn’t have a talent until I was older and I still found a way to make a change. I found ways to make people laugh and happy and it made me realize that I wanted to make people happy whether it was through singing, playing music or even dancing.

Recently one of my closest friends just released a song on Soundcloud and when he shared it with me I was in awe because I had no idea how talented he was. Months before other people I knew began to post their songs and mixes on Soundcloud. This made me realize that there are so many talented people in this world we just do not know it yet. However, the people who get overlooked aare the ones who may not post their music on Soundcloud, might not play an instrument or the ones who don’t have a talent. We might get caught up in the idea that we need to be talented but we don’t. Everyone is good at something. You might not be the most athletic person out there but you can probably tell funny jokes. Before you say I don’t have a talent that’s where you are wrong. Everyone has a talent whether it is musical or not. You might have a talent for making people smile and that is one of the best talents out there.

As someone who came from a family that wasn’t full of musicians or singers I turned heads when I decided to join the band and dropped a few mouths when I participated in musicals. I learned that I had a talent in music whether it was playing the saxophone, singing in the musical or even learning choreography. The choreography might have taken some time, but I was able to learn it. I realized that I had something most people only dream of. I decided the best thing to do was to continue getting better and helping people with my talents.

You might not be able to sing like Taylor Swift, or dance like Jenna Dewan-Tatum but you do have a talent. You might be really good at art or writing. Even if your talent doesn’t translate to art or writing it can translate to great things. All you need to know is that you have a gift that some people may spend their entire life looking for. Use that gift to your advantage because it is for you to spread to the people around you. There will be bumps in the roads when you try and spread the talent that was given to you but always remember that no matter the obstacles and no matter what life throws at you be sure to keep moving forward. Show how much you can take and keep moving forward. In the words of Michael Scott Never ever give up. You have a gift and I hope you use it to not just your advantage but to the advantage of people around you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
