Often times, I find myself feeling lonely in this big ole world. I find myself feeling like I have no one to experience life with. I find myself feeling like I have no place in this world. Even in a big crowd, I'm the loneliest I've ever been. I don't have a boyfriend. None of my family lives in the same town as me. And, almost all of my friends have gone home for the summer or, at least, go home for the weekend. I don't have anyone to talk to. I'm all alone. There's a place in my heart that longs not to be lonely.
That place can be filled. That place in your heart that longs to no longer be lonely can be whole again. You're not alone, and you don't have to feel alone. You and I have both been blessed with the ultimate Savior, and His name is Jesus. He came so that we could be saved. He came so that we could be saved from a world that makes us feel lonely. He came to fill up that hole in our hearts with hope. Jesus came so that you don't have to be lonely. He has come, and He is here. Always.
"I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." John 14:18 NKJV
God said it first. He will not leave you as an orphan. He will not leave you alone. He will come to you and never leave you.
"No matter how alone you think you are, God is always just a prayer away."
Prayer. Steadfast prayer and petition draws us closer to Christ. Through Him, we are not alone.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Phillipians 4:6-7 NKJV
God is here for you, and He will never forsake you. No matter how alone you feel, you're not. God is with you. You are not alone. You do have someone to do life with. You do have a place in this world. You have a purpose. And, that purpose, is in God's arms. You can trust in Him. You don't have to feel lonely, and you don't have to be lonely. You are His.
Believe me, you're not even alone in feeling alone. I told you at the beginning of this article that I, often times, feel very lonely. If you ever feel lonely, pray and seek Jesus. Seek Him through the Bible. Seek him also through worship. He is here for you. I promise.
