Mom, you have and always will be more than a mom to me. Here some of the roles you have played in my life. I cannot thank you enough.

My First Teacher

From brushing my teeth and walking to teaching me how to solve quadratic formulas you have taught me so much. I am constantly learning from you and you are always teaching me new things.

My First Love

You have loved me unconditionally, which I know was not easy. You have been there for me from day one and I know I can count on you any day at any time.

My Therapist

You have never failed to listen to my endless rants and constant rambling. You give me the best advice and help me through everything and anything no matter what time of day.

My Personal Shopper

From my favorite snacks to the dress I need for a show you have bought it all for me. You understand my taste and my favorite kinds of food. I miss coming home to random surprises that you bought me.

My Biggest Cheerleader

Any game, performance, or award ceremony you were there cheering me on. I loved hearing your voice in the crowd, even if it was embarrassingly loud.

My Voice Reason

I can always count on you to tell me how it is. Whether I need a reality check or just have your voice in the back of my head I know I can count on you to steer me in the right path.

My Nurse

I miss the days when you would take care of me all day. You have kissed the booboos and handled me on my worst days. Nothing helps a cold more than a mother's love.

My Alarm

Not very many people can get me out of bed, but you have mastered it. You know what alarms I sleep through and when I am lying about getting up.

My Role Model

My Chef

I am not quite sure how you managed to make any food with my schedule, your schedule, and all the chaos in the house but you did. Not to mention that it was really delicious and my cooking doesn't even compare.

My Hairstylist

You have always understood how my hair works and always do it just the way I want it. I can always count on you for the perfect do or just help getting the tangles out.

My Humiliation

Let's face it, you enjoy embarrassing me and I kind of do too. You love to brag, get emotional, and overshare my life...in front of me. I can't even stay mad because it's so funny and I know you don't mean any harm.

My Personal Bodyguard

Anyone who messes with me has to go through Mama Bear. Sometimes you scare me with how protective you are. I love that you always have my back.

But most of all, My Best Friend

I love that I can dance, laugh, joke, talk, hug, and just hang out with you. You bring me so much happiness. You mean the world to me. You have made me who I am.

I love you Mom. Happy Mother's Day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
