Most people love the holidays. There is the warm, cozy drinks, the snowfall, the endless shopping sprees that end up with you saying "Oh well, it is the holidays, right?" purchase of a gift to yourself, the general good cheer for all. It is magical. But that is most people.
Then you have those people who are completely obsessed with Christmas and everything it has to offer and they start planning for the holiday well before Thanksgiving even hits. For those of us who decide to take our love for the holidays just a little bit further, things are always a tad bit more intense. Suddenly, you find yourself at Target in mid-November buying Christmas-themed items because why not? Thanksgiving to you is just a pre-Christmas feast. It is pretty obvious that Thanksgiving is much more about the fact that SANTA'S COMING! See what I did there? Elf reference. The first sign of obsession.
Here are the ten signs that you are definitely are one hundred percent one of those Christmas-obsessed people:
1. Christmas music is not a seasonal treat, but a way of life.
2. Watching "Elf"
3. Going to Target takes on a whole new meaning.
This one does not need an explanation. During any other season, Target is a goldmine, but during the holidays, it is simply heaven. Affordable decorations, candy, baking supplies, and Christmas-themed clothing and stockings. They have everything and it is wonderful.
4. Everything becomes a Christmas Event.
You do not just bake Christmas cookies. You bake Christmas cookies while watching Home Alone while wearing Christmas-themed socks while putting together Christmas gift bags for your friends and family.
5. Christmas Pajamas.
Starbucks holidays beverage? Check. List and budget that you will more than likely not follow? Check.
7. "You're in love, You're in love, and you don't care who knows it."
Yes, this is yet another Elf reference. You should all get why that is important. If you are in love, Christmas is even a thousand times better. Gift-giving, mistletoe, cuddling up in sweaters, and baking cookies for your significant other is just lovely.
8. Christmas Themed Cookie Dough = A Necessity
One hundred here, one hundred there. A stocking for my dog? Okay, no big deal. A way-too-expensive bouquet of flowers for my mom? Obviously. In the spirit of Christmas and gift-giving, you simply forget that you can barely afford Starbucks three times a week (even though that does not stop you).
