My whole life I have always been told that I am an old soul. From the music I listen to, the clothes I wear and my mothering of others I completely agree with that label. I like to have things neat and color coded. If I see someone else's work who is not I feel the urge to organize it myself. So many times friends have told me about their crazy weekends or past crazy moments and I find myself responding with an "are you crazy, that really could have ended badly!" or "what would your mother say?" It is just who I am, a grandma for life. Are you a young-old person too?

1. If you want it, I have it.

If you want a peppermint or cough drop, I have it. Tissues or germ-X, I have that too. Whatever you want chances are I have it my purse. That is also why my purse is the size of a suitcase.

2. I am always cold. No, really.

No matter where I am I am in a sweater. As I am writing this I am wearing a sweater and slippers and it is currently 92 degrees. Most of the time I don't even turn the air on in my car.

3. If you gave something to me, chances are I still have it.

I may not know where it is but i guarantee you that I have it, Including birthday cards.

4. If you seem sad or angry, I assume it is because you're hungry.

In which I then hand you a gingerbread cookie, which I keep in my purse.

5. My biggest celebrity crush is Cary Grant.

The picture says it all!

6. I have "old lady" perfume.

I love it. My meme uses Chantilly and I LOVE the smell

7. I know how to crotchet.

If you ask me nicely, I will probably crochet you a sweater.

8. I am the "mom" friend.

I am the friend who tells you what you do not want to hear. I will tell you that boy is no good, and is trouble. If you want a "mom" opinion and yours can't be reached, I am your girl.

9. Frank Sinatra is my life.

"Come fly with me, lets fly lets fly away" It's my ringtone and favorite song. I can listen to mr. Sinatra all day everyday. It is my happy place.

10. I watch the news every morning and every night.

I start my mornings with the news and end it that way. I like staying informed. i like to know exactly what is happening within the world at all times.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
