"Formation" is much more than a pro-black anthem.
Beyoncé released her latest hit, "Formation", one day before performing the crazed song live at Super Bowl 50.
The song is filled with many direct defenses toward rumors and insults that Beyoncé and family have received in the past years.
For years, people have talked badly about the singer’s daughter, criticizing Blue Ivy’s natural afro puff.
In August of 2014, Karrueche Tran insulted Blue Ivy’s hair saying, “I really did wake up like this because my mom didn’t comb my hair,” as she hosts Black Entertainment Television’s (BET) hit show "106 & Park."
Soon after, the show gets canceled.
A viral line in the hit track, Formation, is now “I like my baby hair with baby hair and afro.”
I guess Bey sure did tell Karrueche.
Another line that derails the song from being a pro-black anthem and more of a social response was Beyoncé finally addressing the rumors of her and her family being a part of a secret society called the Illuminati.
The Illuminati is a theoretical conspiracy group that many believe people sell their souls to become rich and/or famous.
Jay-Z earlier addressed these rumors in Heaven, a track that he released in 2013, he says “Conspiracy theorist screaming Illuminati…They can’t believe this much skill in the human body.”
Beyoncé then goes on to say in this latest hit, “Y’all haters corny wit dat Illuminati mess”
The two are pretty much telling the world that they are go getters and every dime that they have ever acquired was earned. So discrediting their hard work so vastly is a very big insult to the power couple.
