On Nov. 17, Xavier University was scheduled to play against the University of Missouri. Most of us are aware of the protests that have occurred at the University of Missouri regarding the president, Timothy Wolfe. In recognition of these protests, Xavier students received this email on Nov. 16, 2015 at 7:37 p.m. titled, #InSolidarityWithMizzou:
Planned by the Xavier University Student Government Association (SGA), students came out and formed rows to stand outside the Cintas Center in silence for half an hour before the game against the Mizzou Tigers. Students also held a banner stating our support of Mizzou, covered with student signatures.

Seeing students other than African Americans standing in support was amazing. Although it was only a number of students, those that did respond to the call of action made a statement that night. This
moment of solidarity was a step in the right direction for the University, exemplifying the Jesuit Identity that is Xavier University. All too often, our
generation doesn't appear
care about anything other than ourselves. We're more focused on what's going on in our own lives rather than what is happening around us. This is especially true when things aren't directly affecting us. This moment of solidarity through silence was a stoppage in time where we, as students, stepped away from our lives to show support of an issue that is bigger than ourselves.
