Why I write for Odyssey

Writing For Odyssey

I've always enjoyed writing. I've always considered myself good at writing. In school, I never had a problem with anything that required me to write. Although I enjoyed writing and felt that I was good at it, I was never involved with the school newspaper or anything else like that. I never took the opportunity to create written content for others to read. So when my girlfriend sent me something about possibly writing about Odyssey, I jumped on the opportunity. I reached out and was offered a spot as a content creator and here I am today. I was given the chance to produce works and pontentially make money for it too. I've been writing for Odyssey for a little over a month now. I had know about Odyssey for a while, seeing articles being shared on Facebook and Twitter written by people just like me. Seeing the articles were always written on all sorts of topics really caught my attention. It was obvious that content creators had lots of freedom when it came to what they produce, which was big to me. I saw that I was going to be able be as creative as I could possibly be. I liked that I would not be held down by any restrictions or guidelines and I was free to write about anything I wanted to. Week to week I was free to create whatever I wanted to create. I also saw this as an opportunity that would do nothing but benefit me with what I am going to school for and what I want to do with my life. Writing for Odyssey would give me writing experience. I would have to produce content within a certain time period and would have to meet an editors standards. The content I produce would be professionally published. I would be considered a professionally published writer. Not many people can say that, especially at such a young age. Taking this opportunity would give me experience along with professionally published work. It would give me the opportunity to build a resume with these things on it as just a sophomore in college and we all know how important a resume is especially in todays day in age. It was an opportunity I could not pass up. When I got into the swing of things with the team at North Central, I knew it was right for me. I was excited to get to business and start writing articles. I was ready to start preparing myself for my future. I was ready to start gaining experience. I was ready get my work out there, get my name, out there, and get my work out there for everyone to see. I see this as an opportunity to truly better myself with what I pan to do with school and my life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
