Everyone uses a different outlet to express themselves, their feelings, and their talents. For some, art or music may be created; while others use athletics to empower and strengthen themselves. Writing is something that gives human beings the ability to put whatever they may be thinking on paper. From news articles to blog posts, people are able to share their take on incidents, stories, events, or emotions that occur in life. It is so important to recognize that this platform exists.
Further more, writing and blogging gives authors the chance to peak into other authors' lives. Storytelling has the ability to change people’s moods, to make people feel inspired, and to spark ideas in various minds. It is so powerful as a writer when someone comments on the impact a piece had on their life. Unlike anything else, this form of art could be given anonymously or shared from the one who wrote it. Life is not always easy and writing has made me realize that so many of us are fighting the same battles. By reading others' stories, I have had the chance to be encouraged that I am not the only person who feels a specific way.
For me, writing has given me the chance to have a stronger voice. This is the most valuable lesson that I have gotten to take away from writing. As someone who is a little bit on the shy side, paper and a pen give me the ability to say things I would have otherwise tucked away and kept to myself. Through articles, websites and social media, we often times only look at the bad that comes out of it. It is frustrating at times to compare ourselves with others and to see opinions left and right. So yes, I do agree that social media has some negative parts. However, it is more than possible for us to use it for good, to spread things that matter. It is important to use our voices as more than just a way of spouting out opinions left and right. This world is not all bad, and it takes inspiration to be reminded of that. For many, this inspiration is told by authors through stories and that is very powerful.
The point is that writing opens many doors. This art has the ability to plant ideas in someone’s mind or remind others they are not alone. When you are by yourself, in your thoughts, transformation starts to occur and it is crucial to process things. Writing gives a little peak into someone’s thoughts. I challenge you to pick up the dusty journal and pen on your nightstand and give yourself the chance to inspire yourself and others.
