Writer's Block

When you have nothing to write about, your write about that

So here I am, sitting down at my desk (really its a dining room table but really who cares) to write my article. I pick up my cell phone to pull up my notes app to check and see all of the article ideas I came up with throughout the past week so I can begin working on my article. Hold my finger to the scanner, open my app and to my dismay, the notes are black. I came up with nothing this week. I have nothing to write about

That's alright. That’s okay. I can come up with something. I am a relatively creative person. I setup my iPad on its stand grab my keyboard and link everything up. Open the app and I am ready to write.

Five minutes, ten minutes, thirty minutes and the screen is still blank. I grab a snack from the kitchen so I can take a small beak. Back at it. Thirty minutes, one hour, two hours and still no progress. Oh no, what am I going to do. I really need to get this article in, but I don't have anything to write about. What to do, what to do. Okay, stop. Take a deep breath. Just relax and focus. What can I write about? What can I write about?

Ping!

What was that? Oh it's just my cell phone. Who is it? It’s my editor in chief and he is wondering where my article is. I glance at the time on my iPad and I realize that my article is officially late. He has a deadline to. What am i going to do. I've got to submit something and preferably soon. I start typing, and then deleting. Typing and deleting. The process continues as I start writing and rewriting. No matter how many articles I start I just can't seem to get one going. Writer's block.

I get up and start to look around. Something will inspire me. I just need to think. Ah ha! An idea has popped into my head. I know what I can write about. I sit back down at my tablet and start to think of how to start it. As I finally begin typing, I realize why the article suddenly popped into my head. I’ve read it before. It’s one of my earlier articles. I was digging so deep in my mind that I pulled one of my old articles out. Oh now what? Now what to do.

Ping!

Another text from the editor. He asking if I need article ideas and that is when it hits me. The perfect article idea for my current situation. I know what I am going to write about.

I am going to write about not having anything to write about.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
