There are many different reasons as to why a person writes. It could be for comfort, because the paper, ( or the computer), always listens. It could also be to influence the others around us,or simply just so we can make our imagination come to life. I write for all these reasons, and more. I enjoy writing to allow others a sneak peek into who I am, or my experiences. Being a child who's family is consumed by drugs, I often like to make people aware of the truths involved with addiction. People often assume they understand addiction, and the effects it has on others, but I find that they are often mislead. I want to be able to allow people to understand things from my perspective. I find that many others have seen from my perspective as well, and may relate to some of my writings.
I write so I can speak. Allow me to explain this. Being myself, can be something that I am often scared to be. When I write, I am able to say the things I cannot say. I am able to express myself in a way that I cannot express myself in front of others. It is me, myself, and this article. You may be reading this now, but by now I've already gained the courage to try to publish it. I write so I can be me. I write so I can speak.
I write so I can inform. I want to be able to inform people of things they may not be aware of.I wont do this by research, but rather by experience. I want to tell people things from an inside source, you could say. Some of my experiences allow me to do just that. I am able to give people some knowledge from the inside. I write so I can inform.
Overall, however, I write because I enjoy it. I enjoy being able to write exactly what I am thinking without judgement. I enjoy the feeling of it. I enjoy everything about writing. It is my short escape from reality.
