Why I Create Content On Odyssey
Odyssey

Every week as I sit to write my articles, I have no idea what I am going to write about, I just know that I am going to write. As a writer, I think that the ability to sit and write is the best gift. No matter what I set out to write, I know (more or less hope) that whatever I say is going to affect someone in some way.

The fact that people who do not create content on Odyssey feel the need to harp on those who do really upsets me. Sure, there are a lot of articles that are published every week. Sure, I personally share my articles a million and one times, but Odyssey is something I am passionate about. Everybody who signs up to create on Odyssey does it for a reason. To help people, or to help themselves.

To help others, content creators write things that are relate-able, that people want to read.

To help themselves, content creators write about things that others are too afraid to say, but that people need to hear. A lot of the open letters and articles on Odyssey's website are about deep issues that people have gone through.

Personally, I like Odyssey for the simple fact that I can write whatever I want. I am not required to check off boxes for each story. I can sit down, turn on some music and type whatever comes to mind.

Telling stories on Odyssey is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I get to vent, research, learn and help change people's lives. There are always going to be people who hate everything that someone posts on the internet, but I have learned not to take that to heart. People who hate, only have things to lose due to their negativity. People who rise above the hate, only have room to grow.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
