College is the ideal place to get involved because it is so important to make the most of your time. At orientation everyone hears that there are so many organizations to join and if you can't find one for something that you are interested in then you can start it yourself.
Getting involved in some way and becoming committed to something makes the campus feel smaller and more of a home. You meet so many people who are interested in the same things as you and it is so much easier to click.
Getting involved means something different for everyone. Some people will find one thing that they are very passionate about or interested in and stick to that. Others will join many organizations and want to be a part of everything. This would describe me.
At times I question why I do this to myself because it is exhausting but I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't imagine my college experience without all these things that I am a part of. Also by being a part of these organizations you are able to leave your mark on the university.
At times it might seem hard to manage or control but it is important to think back to why you are doing something. Why did you originally join? Would you be missing out if you weren't a part of it? I know personally in the future I would regret if I didn't get as involved in college. This is the time to do this when there isn't much holding you back. It will all be worth it in the end.
