Worst part of being snowed in

Most people love snow days. However, being snowed in at a friend's house is one of the worst things. There are a couple phases you go through before deciding this is the worst situation to be in.

In the beginning, you think it's going to be fun. You get to hang out with your friend for a night. You guys can watch movies and make snacks. The first few hours are fun and you're excited. Then comes the next phase.

After the first few hours, you begin to want to yell at the weather. Like why does it have to snow right now? You kinda want to go lay in your own bed and eat your own food. It is now only the weather fault for you being here and not yours for driving out to your friend's in the first place.

As the night progresses, you began to get annoyed because you realize you don't have anything you need. You don't have enough clothes to last, or a toothbrush or deodorant or really anything you would have packed. So now you have to realizes you must spend the whole night and next morning with bad breath and B.O.

Slowly you get to the point where you can't stand dealing with your friend's family. After a certain point you can only smile politely and sit awkwardly for so long. You want to sit in the quiet of your own place instead of socializing with people you don't really know.

Then the last phase you get to is when you regret every event that led you to this situation. You knew you shouldn't have left your house. You miss your pet and bed. You have become a whole new level of grouchy than ever before. If you plan on traveling this winter be prepared in case of snow storm.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
