It's Friday night, you're hitting the town with your boys or ladies, and you're trying to meet a fine honey. However, you want to make sure you never look stupid or come off too aggressive while reeling in the bait. Sounds easy? Not always. You need one of your friends to help you out. This is called a wingman or a wing-woman. This is the roll a friend takes on when they're trying to help you get some. Having a perfect wing can completely determine the outcome of your night out. The only way to ensure you'll get the best wing support when you need it, is to be the best wing support when your friends need it.

So now you're probably scratching your head wondering, "Well how to I make sure I'm a good wing support for my squad?" Look no further. I've surveyed a number of college students to see what qualities they look for in the perfect wingman/wing-woman. If you follow these tips and share them with your friends- you and the crew are set.

Female: "Willingness to make yourself look bad so your friend looks good."

Male: "He has to be semi good looking, he has to be nice, able to hold a conversation, likes to party, funny and will always take one for his boys."

Female: "Fab personality. Not afraid to speak up but also makes sure she doesn't fall for the same guy as her friend!! She can't be no sloot!"

Male: "Slightly less good looking. Follow your lead and kiss up to you/put you in the spotlight. Outgoing."

Female: "To me, the qualities of a good wing-woman is someone who isn't too assertive, but still portrays your friend as a desired and sought-after person. You definitely don't want to make the whole ordeal seem desperate."

Male: "A good wingman backs you up and makes you look like a stud to the girl. They're hard to come by."

Female: "Knows when to let her friend ride solo. Platonic with the guy she's approaching. Talks her friend up. Knows how to be casual. Confident, easy talker. Drunk."

Male: "A good wingman is a guy who's willing to put his sack on the line for the sake of his boy getting ass. A good wingman makes sure his boy is at least past second base before he goes and fends for himself."

Female: "Doesn't bail for whatever reason. Is down to do whatever and will have fun anywhere. Will go to the bathroom whenever. Will take a lap whenever. Will take a shot whenever. Will give you an honest answer on an outfit and guy. Is always down to munch after the night is done. Doesn't get pissed off if you leave with a guy because she's genuinely having fun. If a girl is talking shit she's there to throw down with you. Will always play a drinking game."

Male: "A guy that's gonna lay it all on the line for your behalf."

Female: "Similar tastes in food/pizza orders."

Male: "It's not how you start — it's how you finish. And it takes two to tango. That's open for interpretation."

Female: "Someone who is always down to party. Someone who always laughs at your jokes. Isn't afraid to get ratchet."

Male: "Uglier than you."
