A World Full Of Clowns

We normally see clowns very scarcely. They perform at children's birthday parties and at circuses. They will perform tricks, make balloon animals, throw pies in each other's faces and do funny things to make people laugh for a living because that's their job. This makes clowns seem very friendly but this was never the case for me.

As a young kid, my mom loved to watch horror movies and one of them was called "IT". It was a movie about a group of kids who tormented by an evil demon who can basically turn into a clown known as "Pennywise" or "IT" and survive by feeding off of children's fears and kill them. This clown wakes up every 30 years to feed upon children. Then 30 years later, the group of kids, now adults, defeat "IT" the clown ridding the world of him forever. Every since I watched that movie, clowns were ruined for me. Every time I would see a clown, I would run away screaming. Someone even had the nerve to dress like "IT" one Halloween. Not cool. Not cool at all. I had nightmares all the time to thinking that "IT" would find me or if I walked past a drain in the street I thought that clown would grab me and pull me through and kill me. I really thought IT was real and now these people dressing up like a demonic clown are making "IT" real. One person dressed like a clown already killed someone.

Recently, starting sometime last time someone decided it would be nice to dress up like a demonic clown and harass children. What person in there right mind would want to do something like that? Now that idiot has a whole gang of followers in his footsteps appearing across the states and harassing children and people. There are clowns who just wander around the woods trying to lure children, clown chasing children with chainsaws and knives. People dressed like clowns are appearing on Facebook and Twitter creating their own profiles to message children sending them threats about killing them or threatening to come to their schools. This is making a lot of children afraid and not wanting to go to school. Police are taking these sightings very very very seriously and warning people to not let their children wander off at night ( which they should not do anyway) and keep their doors locked because we also got some clown trying to kidnap kids from their homes. This clown situation is out of control and it needs to be stopped.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
