What It Is Actually Like Working With Your Siblings

For the past two years, my siblings and I have worked at the same place: the local pool. My brother and sister are both lifeguards and I work as a swim instructor.

Whenever they have the chance, they make sure I am aware that I am not as cool/important as them because I am not CPR certified. When they got promoted to manager, they always made sure to stop by my class lessons when they are doing their safety checks. I always love pointing them out to my students. But with three family members at the pool, there is basically always one of the Belica cars in the parking lot.

Getting to spend time with my siblings at work and at home has helped me to improve my relationships with them. I learned that at work they are my bosses and I will have to live with that, but at home they are my siblings and no matter what I have to love them. They can pick on me when things are going wrong, but they only want me to be the best I can be. Michael and Ally push me to be the best because they know I can be. It is fun working with my siblings, but I have learned that telling the embarrassing story about my brother from when he was younger to my coworkers will always get me in trouble. Working with my siblings reminds me that I need to keep them first. What they tell me about their lives is not to be spread around like the latest gossip. I have learned that if I stay out of their way while they are doing their jobs and do not embarrass them, there will never be a problem.

By working with my siblings, I have learned that, no matter what, they will be by my side supporting me through it all. When someone decides to talk about any of us behind our backs we always find out and we are there to be each other’s support. We back each other up and they are always supporting me and helping me. My siblings work with me and they make sure that it is pleasant for all of us. It is always a good day when I see my brother or sister and get brought in for a long bear hug. They see me getting annoyed with the job and they always remind me why I love working at the pool, half of the reason being that they are there too. Working with my siblings is a blessing in my life that I have not always appreciated. I will always be grateful for the past two summers spent working with my siblings, because it will always be the best summer job. They are there always to show love and joke around with me at work, which makes the experience so much more fun.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
