Women Are Dominating The Rock Climbing World

There are still many sports that are male-dominated, But there is one sport that women are taking over, and that is rock climbing, more and more women have joined this great sport and even have built a community.

Women have been climbing for centuries but just in the last decade has it become women dominated, women work together to lift each other up literally and figurative, This has become a strong sisterhood among women climbers, and there is a great bond amongst them.

The bond over female empowerment, the community, strong friendships feeling accomplished and having a strong and badass climbing partner is one of the best feelings to experience. Some women just do indoor climbing and others do indoor and outdoor.

Research that was originally published in 2000 from the "psychological review showed that hanging out with other women can release oxytocin the calming hormone that reduces stress and even help build friendships".

There are more and more getaways and festival popping up for women only rock climbing, and these resources are for indoor and outdoor climbers. I have met so many women that enjoy this sport and go every day, my son is in rock climbing, so I get to talk to a lot of the women and coaches.

All these women come in all shapes and sizes, ages and ethnicities, I have never seen a woman be talked down on or be told she can't do it and that she is not strong enough. All I have seen is women lifting each other up laughing and having a great time, This is what women empowerment should look like.

These women are tough, they don't care if they get scraps, bruises peeling skin, but they are role models for girls who want to get into the sport, my son's team has girls and they are good, I have seen these girls/women out climb boys/men.

I have never seen any of these girls be intimidated by a boy, and I have never seen any men there disrespect them either, this is a great community for women and men because they have a lot in common and they can be very competitive and no one is going to be a sore loser if someone climbs faster than them.

I love that women are there encouraging other women climbing side by side, teaching newbies like how to do in the right way, and how to get better. The kids learn so much from their coaches and feel confident enough to perform in competitions.

There are more and more women in competitions and if you search on google for rock climbing women there is just a whole list, and they will even bring up the top female climbers. It's an awesome thing to see even the little girls who are 5-6 years old are bouldering which is free climbing with no rope and belaying which is with rope and harness.

You will see so much chalk and taped up fingers, but this community is worth it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
