What Every Woman Should Tell Her Husband

Some men don’t seem to get it, so here are some helpful things ladies should make their man aware of.

Dear Future Husband,

Let’s start with you. According to God, there are three things that I needed in a husband, and I found them in you. Those three things were that you were to be a praying man, a Christian like me, and a peacemaker. In saying “peacemaker”, I don’t expect you to conquer all the world’s problems. It’s more like you being levelheaded. No woman who follows God should accept anything less, and I didn’t. Now we can talk about women. We don’t make ANY sense, but that’s ok. We cry a lot (whether we are happy or sad). Just take it as it comes and hold me if I need you to. If you want to cry too, that’s perfect fine. We should both support each other in the relationship. Don’t be scared of me when I’m on my period. Most women aren’t actually mean. The more common feelings are hunger and sadness. Food is the key! We women also understand sports and get into them. Some yell at their TV’s and gradually lean forward to get closer to the game. Sports can include NHL, NBA, SEC, NFL, etc. or just playing flag football in the yard. Fun can be had everywhere. Being a woman also doesn’t mean that I can cook. I can make a mean mac and cheese but that’s about it. If you want to be the cook, I am perfectly fine with that. If not, then that’s something we can learn to do together.

My turn to talk about myself. I’m going to let you know now, I will drive you insane! I am weird and I will probably embarrass you in public. I believe that life is open to all kinds of possibilities for fun. I like to randomly dance in Walmart and belt out Circle of Life when walking down the sidewalk. If you would join in, I would not object. Let it be known now that I will love you unconditionally. My heart will always be yours and I can get very possessive. If I am yours, then you are mine. I expect us to want to be around each other a lot. There is also the matter of dates. I’ve always thought it would be cute to go to the zoo at night and see the lights during Christmas. I also just like going to the zoo in general. Animals are cool. It would be swell if we could sit at home and battle over who knows more of the dialogue to The Lion King. I do not want you to let me win! I will win on my own. You’ll quickly learn that I have a love for nature. I have a love for the stars. I’ve spent hours just standing outside at night and even just lying in the grass and looking up at the expanse of stars coating the sky. I cannot tell which constellations are which; I just enjoy looking at them.

I hope all of this has helped you to understand how women work and how weird we can be. Nothing in life is easy, especially not a relationship. It takes effort on both parts.

“God is more interested in your future and your relationships than you are.”-Billy Graham

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
