When you were in elementary school, you sat through English classes. You learned new words and learned that some words, though sometimes spelt the same, have VERY different meaning.

Unfortunately for you, they didn't teach you squat about girl talk.

Guys, here's a translation for you on some of our favorite phrases:

1. "I'm fine"

Means she's not fine.

This is the oldest one in the book. When we say "I'm fine," it doesn't mean we're fine, it means, "oh boy you better fix what just happened," or "come bring me chocolate ice cream and a hug... NOW."

2. "I guess..."

MEANS HELL NO.

"Want to go see Star Wars on our romantic date tonight? Can you drive?" "I guess..." HELL NO.

3. "K"

Means you're in huge trouble.

When a girl responds with "K," she's not trying to be cute. She's not trying to be all mysterious and aloof. She's pissed.

4. "Yup"

reference entry #2 or 3

5. *Read Receipt* No response

Means holy cow she's probably thrown her phone at the wall by now.

This is the most dangerous of all responses, none at all. You know you've screwed up when there is nothing she has to say.

6. "Leave me alone"

Means if you bring her food and tell her she's pretty you'll earn major boyfriend points.

7. "You pick"

Means.... YOU PICK.

When men gives women the option on where to go, what to do, where to eat, and they respond "you pick," they're not being cute... just pick.

8. "I mean, it's your choice"

Means "there's one option, so you have no choice."

9. "I don't feel too hot today"

Means one of two things: either she is actually physically ill, or she wants you to tell her she's pretty

10. "I don't want to talk about it"

Means that she wants to talk about it VERY BADLY.

Now unfortunately for you, this list doesn't cover everything. But these are the most commonly used phrases. Now you'll be prepared when you encounter one.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
