A Superwoman in real day...
Mum,
I really appreciate your motherly love. It's intense. I can't understand because I don't have a child of my own but I can imagine the bond you feel with me is overwhelmingly strong. I don't deserve your love most days. You would do anything for me and I know that.
We've never been similar but I'd like to think my quirky humor and weird mannerisms come from you. I admire the person you are too, even though I don't say that enough.
You're a...
Mother
Wife
Nurse
among many other roles, but WOW. I've taken lightly how strong, powerful, and wonderful you are.
You put up with a lot and love the Lord all at the same time. You take care of us, and you also take care of complete strangers. You leave work at the door and focus on us when you arrive at home. You’re such a hard worker.
You work hard and give us more than what we need. You are also incredibly smart. I know I did not inherit that one, but I admire that. You read, read, read and succeed at absorbing knowledge.
You also have overcome a lot. You give advice on things we can relate on and have the best intentions. You tell me I’m worth it, loved, and beautiful despite how the world makes me feel. You send countless, pointless messages just to make me smile and laugh. Even when you can’t understand something, you try or you say "O.K." and listen more.
I’m actually thankful for moving out and away somedays. I think it’s made our relationship closer. I know you’ll always be my mother, but you’re also becoming a friend and I like that.
Thanks for always praying for me too.
We may not see eye to eye and we’ve had our trying times but I love you, mum.
Thanks for giving me life and everything else.
You are THE woman.
