Binge-Watching

Winer break is a great time to binge on shows that we don't have time for during the semester. All the long seasons that would distract us during midterms and finals are no longer forbidden to us. We now have the time to sit around and be idle, no homework, no responsibilities, we could go around in our pj's drinking coffee or tea, snacking And just in case you are so overwhelmed with all the options of shows here is a list of some that are both entertaining and long enough to consume all your free time during this and all winter breaks.

1. Gilmore Girls

Sassy, witty, coffee infused, with an insight to small town living, that is what this show provides. With great book references and an endless supply of sassy comebacks to add to your list of witty responses, but it also provides an insight into social issues that has several issues that are not typically discussed. Gilmore Girls will make you feel like you really live in small upper-middle-class town rather than the large metropolitan or urban cities the majority of us live in.

2. Grey's Anatomy

Romance, heartache, friendship, this show will have you thinking you are more than capable of performing any type of surgery at a moments notice. If that is not enough to convince you, it also takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that you never thought you could experience.

3. Friends

You can watch this one or a thousand times and every time you watch this show you will laugh until you cry. Some of the greatest everyday references of our times come from Friends so why not watch it for the first or hundredth time.

4. Parks and Recreation

Let's be honest we all need a Leslie Knope in our lives, so 'treat yo self' to watching a great show about friendship and politics in the most comical way possible.

5. White Collar

This show is action packed both with action and a good load of eye candy, it satisfies the need for fast paced action without any gory or inappropriate scenes, but it will leave you feeling like you can do anything.

6. Young and Hungry

Funny and corky, this show stars one of the few Disney stars that didn't end up in in the taboos. Instead, it has funny jokes that allude to inappropriate topics that make the jokes only funnier.

7. Beauty and the Beast

This CW show has both action and romance, with a dash of sci-fi. Mutated beast, fighting bad guys, making love work, this show will keep you more than entertained during the break.

8. House M.D.

This funny and sarcastic show, with a somewhat dark undertone, with have you thinking that you either have all the diseases the lead protagonist diagnoses or that you are fully qualified to diagnose anyone base on the knowledge you acquired through the show.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
