We all will meet new people in our journey through life, but your high school gals will always be there.
Going our separate ways as we headed off to college wasn't easy, and saying good-bye was, in fact, very hard. How do we just move on into the "big" world after we spent the past 12 years with these people by our side? Seeing each other every day in the hallway, at student council, bonfires, and football games — all the way to class day and graduation. Nobody ever said life was impossible, but without you guys in my life it really would be.
They are always there when you need to talk. No matter if it is three a.m. or 10 o'clock at night, they will pick up the phone. Sometimes I may call to tell them a stupid story, sometimes it's because I have a problem, or sometimes simply because I want to say "hi!" They never question or judge me with my decisions, and I am so lucky to have each and every one of them in my life.
They always have my back. Whether it is in cheerleading or in life, I can count on them for anything. They will stand up to the person that "puts you down" or "hurts" you in anyway. Whether it is catching you when you fall (literally) or ruining the boy's life who made you cry.
We can hang out for weeks straight and never get sick of each other. One of the MAIN reasons why college is hard is because of this fact. The distance is killing us, but, hey, that's what FaceTime is for. When we reunite on breaks it is the best feeling ever, and all I look forward to. Going from being with each other every day and getting on each others nerves, to being at different colleges makes me realize more how much we actually need each other.
We are CRAZY. We don't really care who judges us because, let's face it, we are wild. It's great having a group of best friends who you can just be yourself around. Whether it's dancing on tables at senior week, or even just laughing until we can't laugh anymore.
We never fight. Although sometimes we may get on each others nerves, we never had actual arguments. We may get angry at each other but when it comes down to it, we would do anything for one another. Sometimes we may say stupid things we don't mean, but anything that is hurtful is always forgiven.
I am just so thankful to have you all in my life. I cannot express it enough.
You are all so different and unique in your own way and together we conquer it all. I never really realized that high school would fly by so fast. I wanted to pretend that nothing would ever change. I learned that "wishing to graduate" was a stupid mistake. I would wish on anything to have the opportunity to live my high school years all over again with my gal pals by my side. I wish you all the best of luck in school, and always remember we got each other.
“We won’t say our goodbyes you know its better that way…”
So thank you guys... for making me smile when I was at my worst, and for being my "day ones".
Not many people can say they have a close group of friends but our bond is special and I never want to lose it.
