Alpha Gamma Delta is an international women's fraternity that was founded in 1904. Since then, it has been a home away from home for hundreds of thousands of girls where they begin their lives as young adults. The four years a girl spends in Alpha Gam prepares her for the rest of her life, and provides her with connections and opportunities that can't be labeled with a price tag. However, there are some people who shouldn't go Alpha Gam, and here are the reasons why:
You shouldn't go Alpha Gam if you don't have a heart for community service.
Our philanthropy is the Alpha Gamma Delta foundation, which works to raise money for juvenile diabetes. All chapters work hard throughout every year to raise money for our philanthropy. Along with our philanthropy, we contribute money and time to other sororities and fraternities as well!
You shouldn't go Alpha Gam if grades aren't important to you, and you aren't willing to push those around you to make grades as well.
We aren't "dumb sorority girls". We have standards we have to meet to be active in our chapter, and if we don't, we aren't allowed to do a lot of fun things! Smart girls finish first.
You shouldn't go Alpha Gam if you don't like red, buff, and green.
These are our colors and you will see them all over the place, everywhere. They aren't just Christmas colors.
You shouldn't go Alpha Gam if you don't like t-shirts.
Something about college makes comfort colors t-shirts that much more of a thing. After you wear one, you won't want to wear anything else. There are t-shirts for everything: formals, swaps, and philanthropy events. You will want them all.
You shouldn't go Alpha Gam if you don't like to meet new people.
I have made so many friends in Alpha Gam and in the Panhellenic community! I wouldn't have met these people if I wasn't involved in Greek life.
You shouldn't go Alpha Gam if you don't like crafts.
I am the least artsy person in the world, but I can't wait to spoil my little in the fall! We paint canvases, letters, sheet signs, you name it! Handmade crafts are so much better than store bought ones.
You shouldn't go Alpha Gam if you don't want to make sisters and best friends.
You will meet some of the best people you've ever met in this house, people who will do anything for you, and you'll learn that you will do anything for them. My chapter is diverse, and without it, I wouldn't have learned the lessons I have or become the person I am now.
You shouldn't go Alpha Gam if you don't want to live with purpose.
This is our motto for our everyday lives, and something we as sisters strive to do every single day.
