Years after years, we always celebrate new year’s, a new beginning, a fresh start, a new resolution to improve ourselves. Sounds about right? WRONG!!!
Before I get into why a New Year’s Resolution is pointless, I’ll give you some back story about it first: A New Year’s resolution is a tradition in the Western and Eastern Hemisphere where a person makes a promise to do something that will improve themselves.
We all know that New Year’s resolution is a bunch of baloney that we made up to fool ourselves to become better people. Yes, there are people out there who actually stick with their resolutions, but for some of us, we just say those things so we can feel better and maybe also to impress your girl, guy, or friends and family. Until you realize the amount of work, the amount of time and effort you have to put in to make that goal is very hard. When you started to realize this, you will start to have this thought in mind and I’m asure you that you will think about it and that is quitting on your resolution. Which then waste a bunch of your time of trying to achieve something that you didn’t put your mind into it, ruining all the time you could have done other things that could be amazing.
I have a solution to this so called “Resolution” of ours. Resolutions are brief, fast and the last time you probably hear it is on New Year's day, so the solution is to Be Specific, Reminding, and Keep In Check.
Be Specific: Every time you make a resolution, always put more details into what you want to do so then you can see the steps you can follow through in order to succeed in that resolution.
Keep Reminding Yourself Why You Want to Achieve Your Resolution(s): the one thing that kept you remembering it is to remind yourself all the time every single day in your life or until you achieve it. If you’re not good at remembering stuff, put them on your phone so it can remind you everyday of what to do and won’t forget about it.
Keep In Check: After every month, you keep in check on what you did that improve to meet your goal but also check at what you’re missing to meet your goal and how you can meet that goal faster.
I know that having a resolution can make you feel good and it does but making it happen will make you feel even better, it will give you more advantages in life and you’ll actually show it off to your girl/guy to win over them.
