The summertime is a fun and sometimes very busy time of the year. Household care, graduation parties, and jobs often cut into our time in the summer sun but the summertime is also the perfect time to make plans, and catch up with old friends. Something about the fresh air makes people want to be busy and make some memories, and what better way to hang out with friends then to take a road trip? Depending on your past experiences road trips are either one of your favorite ways to travel, or something you dread more than anything else, it probably depends on whether all those car rides you took with your family when you were younger generated positive memories, or experiences so bad you’ve blocked them out. Regardless of past experiences, everyone’s summer should include at least one road trip.
Road trips are a fun experience for a few reasons. First of all it’s usually a good time to bond with someone. It is impossible to go on a road trip with a stranger and return without knowing them ten times better. Even if you do know them, even if you’ve known them from the time you could both walk, going on a road trip with anyone results in a unique bond, either from the talks had, or from the experiences you shared along the trip. Being locked in a car for hours on end causes something to be shared that might otherwise have remained hidden.
Road trips are also a good time because it’s a fairly inexpensive way to travel, and the more people you have, usually the less it’ll cost you. You’re basically getting a discount from inviting you’re friends along. Depending on where you’re planning to travel to, flying or taking a train can cost you a lot of mullah. Sometimes you justify the cost of the plane ticket for the ease and speed of travel, but for those who can’t afford a ticket, the driving life is the life for you. And besides with a plane or train ticket you’re not going to get a cheaper price on travel just because you have three other friends with you.
Finally road trips are great because they all depend on you. If you’re taking a plane you can’t ask it to land just so you can stop by a city you wanted to see along the way. You can't halt a train because you’re about to pass a store and want to grab some snacks. Road tripping allows you to be the boss. You get to choose where you go, how long you’re there, and when you leave. For instance maybe you’re driving and you see a beach in a few miles, you can pull over and stop at that beach for as long as you want, because you get to decide. Not to mention one of the most important perks of road tripping, you have a car once you get to your location. Flying to California might be way faster, but you won’t have any way to get around once you're there, unless you rent a car. Driving allows you to have a means to get around once you’re to your destination which is a huge added bonus.
There really is nothing better than a summer road trip. Everyone is making plans with friends, and wants to make memories. It will allow you to bond in a way that you can’t achieve any other way. Not only that but gathering all your pals together for a road trip is going to cost you way less than any other form of travel. And not to mention you get to choose what you do. You get to be the boss, and you can’t put a price on that .
