As the weather gets colder, we slowly begin to approach the best time of the year, aka the holiday season. Soon it will be Halloween, then Thanksgiving, and then finally Christmas. But it is possible that the holiday I am looking forward to most is Black Friday, and it is not because of the deals on gifts. It's because that is the day the long anticipated Gilmore Girls reboot comes out. I have been a fan of Gilmore Girls for years but right now is the first time I am watching it all the way through on Netflix and it is even better than I remembered. There are many reasons why anyone who hasn't seen the show before should start to watch it now, but the most pressing one is that the reboot comes out in about 73 days. Since there are 153 episodes, if it was started now it would require the viewing of at least two episodes per day. So for any Netflix viewer who hasn't watched the show yet, the time is now to start and here are a few reasons why:
1. The quick witted jokes
With interesting references and dry sarcastic humor, any conversation with the GIlmore Girls is sure to be hilarious.
2. The plethora of quotes
Gilmore Girls is filled with insightful quotes about life and love, as well as the occasional random and extremely memorable quip that you can certainly throw into your everyday vernacular.
2. Rory's romances
Are you a Dean, Jess, or Logan girl? The younger Gilmore girl, Rory, has had three main suitors throughout the series and which one is your favorite is always a hot button topic amongst fans. All three of them are returning for the reboot so you can pick your favorite and get ready to hope she ends up with him.
3. Luke and Lorelai
While Lorelai has had her share of suitors over the seven seasons, there is none that compare to her relationship with diner owner and coffee proprietor Luke Danes. Prepare to swoon.
4. Young Melissa McCarthy
Before becoming a famous comedian, Melissa McCarthy was the goofy and endearing Sookie St. James, Lorelai's best friend.
5. The relationships between family and friends
The show does a great job of showing realistic relationships between families especially within the Gilmore household. It is also nearly impossible to watch the show without relating to one or more of the characters. Whether you are bossy like Taylor, judgemental like Emily, cynical like Michel, kind like Rory, or rebellious like Lane you can find someone on the show to root for.
I have yet to hear from anyone who wasn't extremely happy that they started the show and with the reboot coming now is the perfect time to do it.
