Why Follow Beauty Bloggers

If you are make-up and beauty obsessed like me, then watching videos about new products and exciting tutorials only seems natural. Watching beauty videos enhances your own experience in the field and also provides a source of entertainment -- most of the time, these women (and men) are absolutely hilarious and completely relatable.

Following these "beauty gurus" makes you feel connected to them in a way, even when you know they have 2 million other subscribers. The bloggers and vloggers I follow are 100 percent honest and down-to-earth and are not inflated by their internet fame, making them so much more real and interesting to watch.

Beauty bloggers are also an excellent resource if you are someone who has FOMO (fear of missing out) on new and exciting products, especially limited-edition releases. Beauty gurus receive tons of PR packages from brands like Jouer, Urban Decay, Becca, Colourpop -- just to name a few. These packages almost always contain the latest and greatest from these brands, as well as their upcoming release dates so that you can hear reviews before the products even hit the shelves. I highly recommend at least searching for "NEW ..." on YouTube just to find out what products are hits and misses.

In addition to getting new products, these bloggers and gurus are also seasoned veterans when it comes to all things beauty. They have tried the Clarisonic, the PMD, the Foreo Luna, laser hair removal, lip injections, Anastasia's new brow pencil -- they will tell you straight-up what they think of a product and why they think that, even if they are being paid to film a video for that company. Bloggers will always disclose if they are being paid to say things they do not agree with, but the people worth watching will always be honest no matter how much money a brand offers.
