Why You Should Adopt A Rescue Dog

Say no to animal cruelty.

Why You Should Adopt A Rescue Dog
Wonder Woof

Whether or not you like dogs, which you should because what’s not to like, they are still man’s best friend. Dogs are loyal companions who will love you no matter what and will always be ready for an adventure with their human. Somehow there are people in this world who do not enjoy being around these loving animals, which is fine. But there are some people out there who are so heartless and hateful that they resort to abusing and abandoning dogs. Even though this is an upsetting occurrence that is becoming more prevalent today, it just means that there are homeless dogs out there with big hearts that you can take home and care for! Rescue dogs make the best companions and here is why.

1. They have so much love to give.

They know how it feels to be rejected, unloved, and unwanted. Just because they are animals does not mean that they do not deserve to receive love, nor does it mean that they cannot love a human. Rescue dogs will show you so much love in hopes that you will not throw them away like those have done in the past.

2. Most will eventually be sent to a kill shelter.

Pounds are becoming overcrowded so they resort to killing these precious animals. As if they did not feel loved before, now we are just going to kill them because too many people are heartless.

3. They will always be by your side -- literally.

Because they have been abandoned, they will always be right by your side. Doing laundry? Look down and you will see your four legged friend. Walking to the kitchen for a snack? Soon you will hear the pitter patter of your dog's paws coming to be right next to you. They are just trying to make sure that you are not leaving them forever.

4. Once they warm up to you they show their playful side.

At first, they will be a little bit skittish and intimidated by a new face. This poor animal has trusted a human before and ended up abandoned, but once they begin to warm up to you and realize that you are not like their previous owner they will almost seem like a completely different dog. Rescue dogs are some of the most playful, energetic, and funny pets. As long as you are laughing and playing with them, they believe that you will love them forever.

5. Because why would you pay a ton of money for a pure-bred dog, when you could adopt a little mutt and love it just the same, or maybe even a little more?

Enough said.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
