"Thinking about seeing Queen B?"
"Have your Formation tickets already?"
If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this article is for you. I get why people want to see Beyoncé, but there are legitimate reasons why you shouldn't go see her. I've been to one of her concerts before and a lot happened that you should know about. So to fill you in, here is my experience and what would be your experience too broken into three parts.
THE COUNTDOWN
You'll do a lot of thinking in the time leading up to the show. You think "Will she be shot out of cannon?" "Will she reach out and touch the crowd?" "Will I cry / scream / explode?" You're just about ready for anything at this point. And you have to be ready for all that's about to take place. Then when the stage is setting up and some sound checks take place, you realize it's time. Now you're spazzing out and your head is literally spinning!
THE SHOW
When the music starts and you finally see her, it's unreal. She's more fierce than you imagined. The crowd is going crazy! And all of a sudden a sound escapes from your mouth like nothing you've heard before. It resembled a scream maybe? But it certainly wasn't. It couldn't have been. It was more animal-like and you can expect that scream-like noise to sound many times throughout the concert.
Everything is so overwhelming. You're yelling "Thank you!" and "I love you!" and "Yaaas!" She's moving you emotionally, mentally, and physically with each amazing performance. You're belting out every word and you just don't want it to stop. And then you hear your favorite song begin and you feel so, so complete. At times you're happily dancing the night away, other times tearfully swaying back and forth, and yes, you might even find yourself bowing down. It's all flawless like her. By the end, you're begging with everyone else for just one more song and hopefully you get it and more . . .
THE AFTERMATH
But sadly, all concerts come to an end and Beyoncé is no exception. You'll be exhausted and maybe a little depressed when it's all over. However, you'll walk away with a new set of eyes. You'll see the world differently and for the better. And her music that you loved so much now takes you back to that concert and the unforgettable time you had.
So now you know what to expect and if you don't think you can handle it, (the anticipation, the electricity, the post-show depression) that's exactly why you really shouldn't see Beyoncé in concert. But if you're one of the brave; if you want a concert to remember and one like no other, then that's reason enough why you SHOULD go. And trust me, you won't be disappointed.
Beyoncé, we thank you and we love you!
