Why You Need To Let Go, Move On, And Move Forward

Don't let yourself become lost in a blur of rejection, life moves on and so should you.

Why You Need To Let Go, Move On, And Move Forward

Letting go, moving on, and moving forward. Three simple phrases that are so much easier said than done. Robert Tew once said,

"Respect yourself enough to walk away from something that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy."

If something no longer serves you, helps you grow, or makes you happy, let go, move on, and move forward. Sometimes it seems impossible.

Everyone always says time can heal almost anything but days, weeks, months, even years can pass and you may still feel the ache in your heart. You may still wake up at three a.m with tears streaming down your face or get that pit in your stomach when you hear a certain song.

You might replay moments in your head, stop replaying moments in your head, stop doing it over and over. Stop letting yesterday take up too much of today. Memories are a beautiful thing but they can be so painful and overwhelming if you allow them to be. Memories are a beautiful thing of the past. They'll still be there when you let go, move on, and move forward.

When you look at the big picture it still might not make sense. You might question why things happen the way they do, you might question yourself and your decisions, you might question your worth. Never question your worth simply because someone else failed to see it.

You might even start to question God. But know through all of this, whatever it is, He has a plan, and He can't guide you if you're standing in one place. You won't find the happiness you've been longing for in the same place that you lost it. Don't go back and search for happiness there, it isn't there no matter how bad you want it to be. Of course you'll wish or pray for it to be there. It's where you're comfortable, it's where you've invested so much time, so many thoughts and hopes, and "what ifs" you claim it's all you know. Losing what you've spent so much time on and what makes you comfortable isn't going to feel good. But it's the first step of letting go, moving on, and moving forward.

Look at the big picture again. There's lots of people in it but you'll learn that some people aren't truly a part of it, they were just lessons along the way. A lesson is something to be remembered but not physically held on to.

These people aren't a part of your "big picture" they aren't a part of your "plan" they aren't a part of God's plan. Let go of these people, move on from these people, move forward into the plan that is set out for you. It won't be easy but you'll learn the lessons you need to learn, you'll be stronger, you'll recognize the strength that has been within you this whole time.

You're going to find your passions, you're going to scream your favorite songs at the top of your lungs when you're driving in the car. You're going to watch sunsets and even sunrises and you're going to smile a genuine smile. You're going to take all that love you would have so happily given that person and spread it throughout your life, spread it through God. Once you let go, move on, and move forward you're going to do amazing things. I can't wait to do amazing things.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
