Why You Need Friends With Different Personalities In Your Life

The saying is true, opposites do attract. Sometimes the most unlikely people who come into your life will most likely be one of your best friends. From the minute, we are born we pick up on things that the people around us do. As years pass the people that we spend our time with become our friends and those are the individuals that mold us to who we are today. The people that you surround yourself with have a huge impact on your life. You surround yourself with so many different types of people that you probably do not even realize it. You may wonder why you are more confident. That is because you are around someone who has that type of aura around them and it carries over to you. You may have a friend who is risky and adventurous. Being around that type of person for a while could give you an adrenaline rush to want to take a chance and do something that you wouldn’t have done before. Those people in your life let you see the world in a different way than if you were to look at it previously. Those types of friends in your life who are opposite from you will encourage you to take a leap of faith and try something new. One of the best ways to be able to grow as a person is to surround yourself with people who are opposite from you.

Having patience is the ticket to getting to know people who are not the same cup of tea as you. One thing that is vital in a friendship is to not change anyone and to not be changed. There is a difference between growth and change. How you go about it, now, that is a decision all in its own. Your new friend is going to be different than you. They may be the go-with-the-flow kind of individual and you may be an extreme planner. Try new things, go with the flow, and live as if tomorrow does not exist, with people who are different from you.

As I became older one thing I truly strived for was the ability to grow. The close-knit friends that I do have, have helped propel me into the direction that I want to go. I have learned that if I want to grow as an individual I need people around me who are going to help me do that. When you are with people who are just like you, you have no one to really challenge you. When the people who are with you are just like you then they will most likely go about situations that same way that you would. However, when you are with people who would go about a situation differently than you would have the opportunity to learn something new. Life is all about learning, taking risks and being challenged. The people who are your friends can do those three things for you. When you are around people who see the world in a new light it can give you a new path to tread on.

Thank you to the friends who have challenged me, strengthened me, and have given me the opportunity to grow.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
