I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "love over hate" many times, especially in the past week. It's become such a normal phrase. It's lost it's puncture to the heart. The problem is that these are just words, and that no one does anything about it. Well, I shouldn't say no one. However, me writing this article is not really doing anything either, though I may think so. I'm guilty of it myself. Not doing anything and saying everything is a reflex that Americans have after a tragedy. You know why? It's because we are actually unable to come up with a proper solution.
There are people in the world that are loving toward everyone. There are happy stories that restore faith in humanity. But there is still hate, and no matter how much love there is, hate is still here.
There are too many strong opinions and we are unable to "agree to disagree." There are too many people in the world for all of us to agree, but you all know that. You all probably know all of this. We as humans have to be right. We strive to focus on bettering ourselves.
What happened to loving thy neighbor?
My article isn't arriving at a solution, because I'm honestly at a loss myself. Like many others, I'm unable to solve this hate problem.
I want nothing more than to live in a safe world where everyone respects and loves each other. So what's the next step?
All I can say is to put your words into practice. Just saying that love will eventually outshine hate won't make a difference. There are people out there who always strive to love. Keep doing that. Keep spreading that love and hopefully those phrases we all speak won't just be words.
