For some reason, there's this misconception out there that women are wearing makeup to impress men. I would like to dispel that rumor. Don't get me wrong, guys are great and all, but there's not a single female out there who's wasting all that time, money, and effort just to impress her latest crush. Sure, that might be a smaller underlying motive, but in the grand scheme of things, those of us who are wearing makeup are wearing it for us.
1. Makeup is expensive.
If you want a quality product that isn't going to rub off or fade in a few hours, you're going to be dropping some serious cash. I can easily spend $40 on foundation, $50 on eyeshadow, or $30 on lipstick. There is no way I'd spend that much money on makeup if I was wearing it for someone else.
2. It takes a lot of time.
If I actually want my makeup to look good, I need at least 20 minutes. Usually, I'm closer to 30 though. I have no problem using 45, either. That's a lot of time to dedicate to how I look. Assuming I go with my usual 30 minutes, thats 3 and a half hours each week, 15 hours every month, 182 and a half hours every year! Makeup time is me time. I don't waste seven and a half days worth of time a year so those around me will think I look good.
3. No one notices what I'm wearing.
Owning three different Naked palettes is kind of ridiculous. Trust me, I know. I notice the subtle differences though. Sometimes I want pink undertones and sometimes I want gold ones. The difference when these shades are actually on is so subtle theres no way anyone in my day to day life notices or even cares. No guy is going out of his way to figure out what color is on my eyelids. The only person who is going to notice every detail of my makeup is me. So, I wear it for me.
4. It's fun and relaxing.

5. It boosts my confidence.
